Team Vitality and adidas have partnered-up to unveil VIT.02, the second version of its limited-edition sneakers.

The new and exclusive ‘X9000L3′ has been influenced by Dragon Ball Z, as well as Team Vitality branding, to see sneakerhead culture collide with the world of esports and manga.

This new model, co-created by adidas and Team Vitality, is the outcome of a long-term partnership between the entities signed three years ago. According to the release, the sneakers have been specifically designed by esports athletes to fulfil their needs, creativity and aspirations.

The X9000 model also draws inspiration from one of the most famous manga in the world, Dragon Ball Z. The name echoes ‘Over 9000’, a Dragon Ball Z expression referring to impressive power or ability.

The sneakers are also embedded with adidas’ BOOST technology, whilst the design focuses around an elegant black colour and features graphic details mirroring Team Vitality’s branding and colour theme.

Team Vitality’s slogan ‘V for Victory’ has been placed on the sole of the shoe, as well as the signature team bee. The VIT.02 model’s reflective stripes provide unique colour-changing elements, meaning the shoe will change appearance in different light levels. The sneaker’s recommended retail price is €130 (~£188), as per the release.

Since the beginning of their partnership in 2017, adidas and Team Vitality have been committed to providing unique experiences and products, with the German sportswear company was the first sports kit supplier to invest in the French esports market.

‘VIT.02’ marks the second sneaker iteration from the pair. According to the release, last years first edition esports sneaker sold out worldwide within a week.

Esports Insider Says: adidas and Team Vitality have done yet again another fantastic job with the creation of this sneaker. It is all too easy to become corny with esports attire, but this edition of sneaker looks modern and sleek, as well as having regular BOOST elements and reflective patterns.
