Locals opens its first creator studio in Miami as part of its “cancel-proof ecosystem for creators”

Locals.com, a subscription-based community platform that’s owned by free speech video sharing platform Rumble, has opened its first video and audio production studio in Miami’s Wynwood art district.

Rumble and Locals creators can use the studio’s state-of-the-art video and audio production equipment, which includes equipment for streaming and editing 4K videos, to produce videos and podcasts.

“The Locals studio is open to creators as their home away from home when in Miami,” Co-founder and President of Locals, Assaf Lev, said. “Providing this resource furthers the Locals’ mission of empowering creators to be independent.”

Locals co-founder Dave Rubin added: “Locals opening a studio in the Miami area is the next step in building a totally new, cancel-proof ecosystem for creators.”

Rubin was the first creator to go live from the new Miami creator studio and used it to stream the September 1 episode of his news and commentary show, The Rubin Report, with talk show host Larry Elder.

The opening of the studio is the latest of many additions and improvements Locals and Rumble have rolled out for creators in recent months.

Locals has added article publishing, Live Tipping, and a toggle for easily converting free live streams into paid live streams.

Rumble has launched its advertising platform, Rumble Ads, in beta, introduced free unlimited live streaming, and enabled ad monetization for live streams on the web.

In addition to regularly introducing new features, Rumble has committed to free speech and recently announced “open-source” free speech rules. This is in stark contrast to tech giants such as YouTube which have increasingly censored creators.

Both platforms recently reported record growth in their Q2 2022 metrics. Locals announced record increases in transaction value, unpaid members growth, and paid supporters growth while Rumble reported a 76% increase in year-on-year increase in monthly active users and 283% increase in content uploaded.
