Parler restructures, purchases cloud hosting company Dynascale

Parler, an alternative to Twitter that allows more free speech, will now operate under a new parent company Parlement Technologies, after it acquired Dynascale, a company that provides cloud services. The vision is to provide businesses with internet infrastructure without the risk of getting censored by Big Tech.

Parler’s CEO George Farmer told the Wall Street Journal that Parlement is “talking to a large range of conservative businesses” about providing them with cloud services.

Parler became popular among conservatives, even topping App Store charts, after former President Donald Trump was banned from most mainstream social media platforms following the Jan 6 riot at the US capitol in 2021. However, the success was short-lived because it was removed from both the App Store and Google Play Store.

The platform was also given the boot by Amazon Web Services, a move that forced it offline.

Apple reinstated the app in April 2021, after it promised to comply with moderation policies. Google only allowed it back this month, after the company updated its policies to met Google’s moderation requirements.
