Team management platform Nicecactus has announced the acquisition of online tournament platform Glory4Gamers.
The acquisition comes following Nicecactus’ €5 million (£4.16 million) funding round that closed towards the end of 2019.

The deal is said to enable Nicecactus’ ability to reach users on an international level, combining the workforce of both companies to reach a 70-person team. The company will utilise Glory4Gamers’ “offline B2B event package” – which allows sponsors to run promotional campaigns on its platform – as one of its main product offerings.
Mike Hessabi, Founder and President of Nicecactus, discussed the acquisition in a release: “The decision to acquire Glory4Gamers fits perfectly with our strategy to develop and strengthen our unique offer, which encompasses virtually all aspects of esports, from amateurs to semi-professional players, as well as companies wishing to address this highly qualified target audience.”

The acquisition allows Nicecactus to offer a “complete solution” for amateur and semi-professional players to “reach their full potential and realize their dream of becoming champions.” Glory4Gamers was founded in 2012 and its biggest market is aspiring competitors in France.
Cyril Chomette, CEO and Founder of Glory4Gamers, added: “The esports market is growing at breakneck speed, and we want more than ever to be at the heart of this ecosystem. Nicecactus approaches esports with an innovative vision and great ambitions. The combination of Glory4Gamers and Nicecactus felt obvious to us, as we have a very aligned vision and complementary skills.”
Esports Insider says: The acquisition of Glory4Gamers seems as if it will genuinely help Nicecactus to broaden both its offerings and its horizons. With the grassroots fund offering an incentive for amateur players, Nicecactus could well become a hub of amateur esports competition in the near future – though there’s plenty of competition emerging.
