UK-based esports organisation Method has agreed a one-year partnership with charity stream platform Softgiving, it has been announced.
The two organisations aim to “create monthly charity streaming events for select non-profit organisations” and to “provide the tools and resources needed to create memorable and impactful fundraisers,” according to a release.

The partnership officially commenced on May 27th with the Method Mayhem tournament. The StarCraft II competition raised funds for Rise Above the Disorder, which provides a universal mental healthcare system for youth worldwide. RAD has covered mental health care expenses for more than 35,000 people across 132 countries in the past three years.
A similar partnership between Softgiving and Misfits Gaming Group was announced in April, starting with an online streaming event to raise funds for the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, which is currently assisting patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Softgiving’s platform will help Method to maximise revenue generated for charities with its live stream integrations. The company will also be responsible for creating donation pages which the community can also use to track the total amount raised.
Christian Bishop, Chief Revenue Officer at Method, also commented on the partnership: “We are inspired and honored by the gaming and esports communities’ ability to rally around charitable causes industry-wide. Because of this, Method is committing $100,000 [£80,227.73] to charity over the next 12 months, and partnering with Softgiving to better integrate our charity efforts into our innovative live-streamed events and engaging influencers.
