LEC brings in Secretlab as gaming chair partner

Riot Games has appointed gaming seat manufacturer Secretlab as the official chair partner of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC)

The deal comes after Secretlab equipped the LCS, Mid-Season Invitational, and the World Championship with its chairs throughout the last season.

The partnership comes ahead of the beginning of the Summer season which gets underway on June 12th. To mark the collaboration, Secretlab will release an official chair complete with LEC branding. The European league was previously in a partnership with AKRacing.

Secretlab joins the likes of Kia Motors, Shell, and Foot Locker as a sponsor of Europe’s highest tier of League of Legends competition.

Alexander Ang, Co-founder and CEO of Secretlab discussed the partnership in a release: “Secretlab has consistently been picked as the chair of choice of the biggest, international esports tournaments, where the world’s best talent is on display and the stakes are the highest. League of Legends is the world’s most popular esport, both in terms of player and viewership numbers, and we are incredibly excited to cement our partnership with Riot Games and further our goal to equip the world’s elite players with the support they need to succeed.

“Secretlab remains dedicated to creating the ultimate seating experience for gamers, and our commitment to comfort and performance is what enables us to meet the exacting standards set by pro players.”

Esports Insider says: This particular deal comes as no surprise given the history of Secretlab and League of Legends esports. These partnerships are very much common in esports at this point and, while they rarely innovate, it provides a chance for fans to get a branded product.
