Known for his work across film and digital media, Rymer will assume the position of Envy Gaming’s CEO from July 13th. In turn, Rufail will transition to the organisation’s Chief Gaming Officer with the responsibility of “scouting, recruiting and working with” players and coaches.

Rymer has served as President of both Nerdist Industries and Legendary Digital Networks, Chairman of the Board of Directors at USA Volleyball, and SVP of Digital Platforms at Universal Pictures, and is still actively a board member of Omnislash.

Rufail spoke on the decision in a release: “Adding Adam to our leadership team will help accelerate the steps we are taking to grow and reach Envy Gaming’s potential as an organization that delivers world-class entertainment, events, fan experiences, content and more. I have focused on building a runway for Envy and the company’s teams, leagues and properties for many years.

“With Adam onboard, I can dedicate myself to my first passion: developing players and fielding competitive esports teams that maintain and build on our organization’s winning tradition. I look forward to coming to work every day with someone of Adam’s caliber and experience as we take the Envy brand to new heights.”

Esports Insider says: Rymer is clearly experienced in running large departments and companies themselves across the entertainment industry. It’ll be strange seeing Rufail in another capacity at the organisation, but he clearly feels as if this change is necessary for the betterment of Envy Gaming and its brands.
