Hana Bank has acquired the naming rights to the first floor of T1’s facility in Gangnam, Seoul, titling it the ‘Hana 1Q – T1 Hall of Fame.’ The deal will also see 1Q Bank, an application owned by Hana Bank, emblazoned on the organisation’s jersey.

Yeom Jeong-ho, Head of Future Finance Projects at Hana Bank, commented in a translated release: “Through the T1 partnership, Hana Bank take a leap forward by expanding its customer base to the younger generation, expanding Hana One Q’s brand awareness around the world, and expanding the financial product field using e-sports.”

Additionally, T1’s players will receive personal financial services and athlete injury insurance from the bank through the deal. The organisation is also partnered with the likes of Nike, BMWSamsung OdysseyLogitech G, and Secretlab.

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, League of Legends player for T1, also spoke on the deal in this translated comment: “I am happy that I and other players have a good opportunity to prepare for the future through the Hana Bank partnership.”

Esports Insider says: While this isn’t the first partnership including a bank in the industry by any means, it appears as if it could be the most expansive to date. Financial details and the length of the deal haven’t been disclosed but we’re deeply interested in seeing how it’s marketed to T1’s fans.
