The Fortnite challenge is open to up to 1,200 consumers who will participate in a global Fortnite tournament before moving on to the Pro-Am JBL Quantum Cup finals. ‘Top names in esports,’ including 100 Thieves, will face off in Fortnite, VALORANT, and PUBG.

Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, 100 Thieves Founder and CEO commented: “Knowing how important sound is for competitive gaming, our teams are extremely excited to partner with JBL and participate in the first-ever JBL Quantum Cup to show the top names in esports how much of an edge the JBL Quantum headsets give us in competition. We’re looking forward to playing alongside our fans during the stream and showing the strength of our VALORANT team – led by Hiko – as well as our successful Fortnite teams.”

Open to North America, Europe, and Asia, the JBL Quantum Cup features a $200,000 (~£151,900) prize pool that includes JBL Quantum gaming headsets, JBL Quantum DUO computer speakers, and a Samsung Galaxy Book Ion. Giveaways will include JBL Quantum headsets, JBL Quantum DUO computer speakers, and autographed gear from 100 Thieves.

Ralph Santana, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at JBL parent company HARMAN, added: “Esports is growing faster than anyone expected, so being able to unite pro streamers with fans for the first time ever in this unique three-day tournament is a huge moment for us. With billions of people regularly tuning in to simply watch gaming tournaments, JBL is changing the game with the first competition that puts viewers at the centre of the action.”

Esports Insider says: JBL has certainly hit the ground running since it jumped into esports this past January. ESL is a strong event partner, as is 100 Thieves, and JBL is going to need it. The company is already up against established audio giants like Bose, HyperX, SteelSeries, and Turtle Beach, just to name a few.
