Immortals adds BLNQ as LCS team eyewear partner

Immortals Gaming Club announced today that it has partnered with eyewear brand BLNQ for its League of Legends Championships Series (LCS) and Academy teams.

BLNQ will be the team’s official screenwear partner – that is, eyewear worn while using screens, to reduce the impact of blue light – and will collaborate on branded eyewear.

Adam Rizza, co-founder of BLNQ, commented in a release: “BLNQ is excited to be teaming up with Immortals Gaming Club. We provide the most advanced protection, technology, style, and comfort found in eyewear. Now, let’s couple that with a philosophy based on fun!

“Together with IGC, we’ll cultivate the best the gaming universe has to offer, with a prosperous era of health, community, positivity, and acceptance.”

BLNQ’s eyewear blocks up to 80 percent of blue light with its Q-Tec lens technology and also has anti-reflective and smudge-resistant coatings to ensure players get a clear view of their screen. In addition to an Immortals-branded line of screenwear to be released in 2021, the companies will collaborate on a content series and will also hold giveaways for BLNQ products.

Jon Tuck, CCO of Immortals Gaming Club, added: “IGC and our Immortals League of Legends team are proud to partner with BLNQ eyewear to bring their high-quality products to our fan base. BLNQ’s powerful Q-Tec Blue Light Lens Technology offers significant benefits both to our players who are competing at the highest level and to passionate gamers everywhere.

“As a competitive organisation, we seek every edge to improve performance while also prioritising the health and wellness of our players. We believe that BLNQ’s products deliver on both fronts.”

Esports Insider says: Immortals has recently pared down some of its esports efforts, including selling off its Los Angeles franchise in the Call of Duty League alongside a $26m funding round. However, the organisation continues to push ahead and support its LCS franchise and is lining up partners to strengthen its brand.
