Rainbow Six Siege team DarkZero Esports has teamed up with Aim Lab, a performance platform, to improve its chances of “outperforming the competition.”
The platform will equip its coaches with player-specific benchmarks, as well as customised training routines and advanced analytics.

Brandon Carr, DarkZero’s GM and coach, will use Aim Lab to assess fundamental skills and create targeted, customised training routines. These will address key weaknesses and improve upon core strengths. Not only will Aim Lab help current DarkZero players, but Carr also plans to use Aim Lab’s Combine platform to recruit players for its Rainbow Six Siege roster to help challenge for future titles.
Zach Matula, CEO of DarkZero Esports, commented in a release: “Combines have long been used by professional sports teams like the NFL to assess and compare players by fundamental skills. We are excited to work with Aim Lab to harness their technology to bring this methodology to games to better assemble rosters and further develop our players.”

Additionally, in 2021, DarkZero will release training, coaching and education programs for Rainbow Six Siege through the Aim Lab Academy. All players will be able to train using custom tasks, routines, and video content.
Dr. Wayne Mackey, Founder and CEO of Statespace, added: “DarkZero, rightfully so, has a reputation for being both an innovative and data-driven team. They inherently understand the need to analyze their players at a more fundamental level to optimize training and teams. We couldn’t be more excited to team up with such a talented, forward-thinking organization.”
Developed by neuroscientists, Aim Lab is a game-agnostic platform that uses AI and analytics to evaluate players based on their motor and cognitive skills. It’s able to provide metrics for measuring player performance in esports away from the usual normality of kill/death ratios, which are highly influenced by strength of teammate and opponent.
Esports Insider Says: Aim Lab has been used by many pros casually for quite some time now, so it’s no surprise to see an actual confirmed partnership between these two. There is no doubt that Aim Lab will be able to help DarkZero improve to try and win titles.
