WINNERS League Season 4 for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) ended last month, and WIN.gg has reported its largest-ever viewership numbers amidst the pandemic.
According to the company, its Twitch channel racked up 1.2 million views during the tournament, with a total of 5.47 million minutes of Season 4 content viewed.
The online competition is targeted at teams just below the top tier of competition, helping to fill a void for semi-professional and amateur teams that need league experience and consistent top-level competition to move up through the CS:GO world. In Season 4, Nemiga won in Europe and Chaos Esports Club took the North American title.
Nick Gorbunov, Project Lead for WINNERS League, commented on the season: “What we’ve tried to do for WINNERS League is to give every single team a veteran competitive experience. With that, we’ve given fans an opportunity to experience a new and improved HUD and gamestate integration to help draw them to teams they may not have otherwise had the opportunity to see.”
For Season 4, the WINNERS League – which uses the FACEIT platform – partnered with VBet to distribute odds to betting providers. All told, the league saw significant viewership increases compared to previous seasons.
