The tournament is to double the number of titles for players to compete on. For the second season, Asphalt 9, Clash of Clans, Auto Chess, and PUBG Mobile have been selected for competition. Alongside the new titles, players will compete for a share of an €85,000 (£76,564) prize pool.

Oliver Maxield, Senior Global Product Manager at ESL, commented on the expansion in a release: “We’re very excited to build on the success of 2019’s Season 1 by expanding ESL Mobile Open into the MENA region for 2020, while continuing to expand in Europe. We have also introduced the game titles Auto Chess and Clash of Clans. The bar for success is high, but Season 2 will be bigger and better than its predecessor and we wish the players the best of luck in the competition.”

While Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East prepare for Season 2, the North American iteration is about to finish its sixth season of competition, with the finals of the tournament taking place in November. Qualifiers for the tournament begin on October 12th, with the finals taking place entirely online from November 13-15th.

Esports Insider says: Moblie esports have proved extremely popular in other markets so it’s about time ESL expands ahead of the second season of its popular mobile tournament. It’s great to see lesser-served nations getting included in big events.
